About Me

Have you ever been endlessly looking for that special gift for that special person, without finding just the right one? That's exactly what happened to me one day. I was searching for a special gift for a special newborn. All existing options where what you all find in stores, the mass production items, manufactured with no personal touch or safety of the user in mind. While searching and gradually eliminating all available inventory on the market, I just thought why not I create something unique, safe and lovable, so that special person can enjoy, appreciate and cherish it for the years to come? I'm sure you all have or had that special handmade toy or sweater or hat or whatever else you got from your grandma, aunt or best friend that even now you think about with love while it brings up sweet memories!

That's how Lora’s Lovables was created, to bring joy, bring about love and create sweet memories.

I started first by making simple and easy crocheted toys and then as my friends started challenging me, I increased their difficulty, diversified my creations and created my own patterns.

Shortly after that, another need to bring joy came upon me. In the summer of 2018, my child was accepted to work in a lab at Harvard University in Boston, to study the learning and communicative abilities of Grey Parrots. It was a childhood dream of my child to meet and work with the renowned Dr. Pepperberg.  Such an opportunity was going to bring infinite joy to a special person. It is then when this other idea came to me: I could donate part of the proceeds of my hand-made crafts to contribute in achieving a student's dream while contributing to research in conservation, preservation of parrots in the wild, and to improve the lives of all parrots worldwide.  Thru Lora's Lovables  I also donated  hand crafted items to Alex Foundation to support their mission.

Now once again there's another mission on the horizon that my Lovables can bring joy to: by supporting those that do volunteer work along Operation Wallacea in the Amazon rainforest to study the effects of human logging on the local biodiversity.

By acquiring any of Lora's Lovables you can too bring joy not only to that special person of yours, but also to those contributing to global environmental research.  Any craft can become yours for a monetary contribution! If you cannot find the specific craft you are looking for, please contact me to inquire about commissioning it.

Don't forget to subscribe to keep up to date with my latest craft creations.

Thank you for supporting my commitment to improving the quality of our environment and living creatures future!
